The three trucks carrying band equipment across the country to California left Western North Carolina about 4:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, and traveled in and out of wintry conditions before stopping for the night in New Boston, Texas, near the border of Texas and Arkansas. The drivers opted to take an alternate route to the south of Interstate 40 to avoid possible additional bad weather. The trucks are driven by teams of volunteer drivers including Jimmy Crocker, who shared the photos that appear at right. Read more about their journey on posts tagged “road report.“
We have the best drivers. Jimmy Crocker kept me informed by text all day Sunday and I was very relived when the report from Knowville said, “We can see pavement now.”
They sent a photo of major events along the way…….crossing the Mississippi and the Arkansas Rivers.
Go truckers, GO! God bless all of you hauling the gear. From a proud band parent.
