The theme of the Western Carolina University Pride of the Mountains Marching Band’s schedule seems to be early – from early morning wake-up calls to an early New Year’s Eve celebration (although it will be midnight on the band’s East Coast home.) Check out the band’s itinerary below. (All times notes are Pacific Standard Time – three hours behind the East Coast.)
Sunday, Dec. 26
The three trucks carrying equipment, uniforms and luggage leave for California.

5 a.m. – Wake-up call.
7:15 a.m. – Official Rose Bowl photo & visit float construction tents
11:50 a.m. – WCU performs field show “Rock U” at Bandfest (Watch it on the web by purchasing an $8.50 webcast. A portion of proceeds benefit the band!)
2:30 p.m. – Hollywood/Los Angeles tour
Friday, Dec. 31
6:30 a.m. – Wake-up call
9:30 a.m. – Visit Santa Monica beach
1 p.m. – Explore Getty Museum
8 p.m. – Celebrate New Year’s Eve
9 p.m. – Happy New Year! (East Coast time)
Saturday, Jan. 1
4:15 a.m. – Wake-up call
6:05 a.m. – Depart for the Rose Parade
8 a.m. – Rose Parade begins (11 a.m. EST!)
7 p.m. – Band banquet
